Hard to believe a place like this exists so far from the various meccas of Italian markets (Philly, NYC, Boston), but it is a present day reminder of the best Italian markets of the Northeast US, or even in Italy.  It is a small space, and it is packed with people most any day, but especially on Saturday (check their hours – they are closed on Sunday, and opened only from 9 am to 2:30 on Saturday).

For those of us living in the Tampa Bay area, every Foodie in the know would tell you to visit Mazzaro’s for their amazing cheese department, real Italian deli meats, homemade bread, outstanding espresso, great wine selection – what more can a paesano want?

There is a large section of prepared foods you can eat there or take home, as well as items that are heat & serve. A very dangerous part of the store is their fantastic artisan bakery – whole cakes and pastries, as well as individual portions.

The Italian wine selection is nothing short of spectacular – you name it, and they’ve got it, including many hard to fine wines and vintages.

Go check them out go to explore. You could easily spend a few hours.  And tell them Serious Foodie sent you – they have been carrying our products since the beginning of the company.
