Kentucky Bourbon Rub
We were inspired by the amazing flavors that come from the barrel-aged bourbon salt the we found from an artisan vendor outside of Lexington, Kentucky. We combined this smokey flavor with the dark sweetness from granulated molasses, and added a bit of heat from powdered chipotle. This rub works great as a dry rub marinade, as a substitute for salt during and after cooking, or you can think outside the box – use to rim a Manhattan cocktail glass.
The Kentucky Bourbon rub is a different take on the typical barbecue rub. The smokiness comes from the barrel-aged bourbon salt, and the sweetness from granulated molasses. This rub works great with any grilled or pan-seared protein.
